Command Sgt. Maj. (Ret) William A. Sharp

Command Sgt. Maj. (Ret) William A. Sharp, served the Army between March 1949 and April 1990. The 2nd State Command Sgt. Maj. of the Delaware Army National Guard, he also served the Army Guard simultaneously with five of his brothers, all of whom were present, along with a sister, sons, grandsons and great grandsons.

Command Sgt. Maj. (Ret) Gilbert Patterson

Command Sgt. Maj. (Ret) Gilbert Patterson, served the Army between Nov. 1950 through Jan. 1981 and was the 1st State Command Sgt. Maj. to serve the Delaware Army National Guard.. He was represented by his daughter Nancy Patterson. After personal reminiscences of her late father by Maj. Gen. Vavala and State Command Sgt. Maj. Jim Vavala, Ms. Patterson accepted a plaque on behalf of her family. During her remarks she commented on the family atmosphere of the National Guard noting that although her father "passed away 16 years ago, it is so good that people remember him after all these years."

The inductees' photos will join Command Sgt. Maj. Marvin B. Hitch, Command Sgt. Maj. William J. Hayes, and Sgt. 1st Class Joseph L. Everett, their predecessors on the walls of the NCO Hall of Fame.
