Volunteers from the Delaware Army National Guard raised donations of funds and competed in the Annual Easter Seals Volleyball Tournament at the University of Delaware on Saturday, March 18.
The team met together three times per week over a three week period, for two hours each practice session. All of the team members worked very hard and represented DEARNG well and in a very professional manner.
"It was such short notice, but we came through," said Sgt. Maj. Dennis Lindgren. Altogether, the Delaware Army team raised $1350 for the event.
Of the games where the score was being kept the DEARNG team won; however, some teams that played chose not to keep score. According to Sgt. Maj. Lindgren, "it was not about winning or losing that mattered. It was about having fun and raising money for a good cause."
"Thanks to all those who made contributions to support the Easter Seals Volleyball Fund Raiser," Sgt. Maj. Lindgren.
