Family Readiness is a Commanders Program. NGR 600-12 and ANG 211 establish the responsibilities for Family Readiness from the Service Member thru the Chain of Command to the State Family Program Director and ultimately the TAG.
Because of the burdens on Commanders and Traditional Service Members, Family Readiness Groups are a resource to communicate with Family Members to educate on Military programs, benefits, resources, and to have a pulse on the needs of Unit Families.
At a minimum level a family Readiness Group Leader and Secretar/Treasurer would establish a communication network (email, snail mail, Phone Tree) to manage the communication and any activitIes the Unit would like to become involved in. Attached are Commanders Guidance, Military Apoint of Contact, and Materials and Training directory.
